I thought about writing who inspired the post, but I decided that would skip a couple of steps in the church discipline process.
;)
Good observation regarding A.D.D.. I had not thought of that. Last night, I read something in a book by Martin Lloyd-Jones that was based on series of sermons on repentance that he delivered in 1949. In it he states that people in the modern world are keeping themselves busy by "crowding into cinemas, reading novels -- anything to fill up their lives and keep them from thinking." Basically, he says we stay busy with anything in order to not face our sins which is what we need to do in order to grow in the likeness of Christ. The interesting part of that is that he said that in 1949. Can you imagine what he would think now?

I agree that America as a whole is over engaged with entertainment. I think this is part of the reason why so many people have A.D.D. We want to be entertained all the time. But we have to learn to dial it back and allow God to be our ultimate entertainer. Great post...even if I did inspire it. :)
