Happy Easter! (On the Wednesday after)

Although most of us celebrated the Resurrection of Jesus Christ this past Sunday, I thought I would wish everyone a happy Easter today. You may be thinking that I was busy so I did not get a chance to blog about Easter so I am doing it now, but that is not the case.
You see, for those of us who are children of God we should celebrate the resurrection all year long. We should celebrate and rejoice in the fact that Jesus died on the cross paying the penalty for our sins, was buried, and was raised on the third day conquering Satan, death, and sin. He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed (1 Pet 2:24).
Jesus appeared to the Apostles as well as to over 500 others at one time (1 Cor 15:5-6). After giving his final instructions to his followers, Jesus was taken up to Heaven where he sat down at the right hand of God (Mark 16:19), waiting from that time until his enemies should be made a footstool for his feet (Heb 10:13).
He is still there. He is still seated at the right hand of God. He is not just risen on Easter Sunday, he is risen forever.
I worry sometimes that we gear up to celebrate the Holy Week and forget what Christ did for us during the rest of the year. We need to remember that every week for God is Holy Week, because he is holy at all times.
So I wish you a Happy Easter on the Wednesday after Easter Sunday so that you might remember that we can celebrate and rejoice in our salvation not just once a year, but forever and forever, Amen.
