Biblical Counseling

I just finished up the lecture time for my Gender, marriage, and sex class a little while ago. 8 am to 8 pm on Tuesday, 8 am to 5:30 pm on Wed, and 8 am to 8 pm tonight with lunch and supper breaks as well. Long days, but I never got bored.
This was my first class that I have taken that is within the Biblical Counseling requirements. I am blown away at how true this course is to the Bible. Everything holds to the principles and mandates of Scripture. Biblical counseling essentially applies the transforming truth of the Gospel to change lives. Earlier tonight we discussed conflict resolution, and Dr. Scott took us through an application of taking the log out your own eye so you can see the real problem. It was so simple, so practical, and so Biblical. The process was set within the context of marriage conflict resolution; therefore, it dealt with each spouse recognizing their part of the problem and working to take the log out of their eye to resolve it. It is all about confessing sin, forgiveness, and repentance.
I would be glad to share the technique with anyone that needs to resolve some conflict. It is too detailed to go over here. Well, now I need to go type a 10 page position paper on divorce and remarriage. More to come on that topic later.

Sure take the log out of your eye. Remember, you go to counseling to fix the other person. Don’t you remember?
Also, adults announce, children explain.
I could go for days, buddy.
