Be The Fruit

I have been reading The Confessions written by Augustine this week to wrap up my assignments for my church history class.  I had to read and keep a thought journal for additional credit.  Here is a thought some of you will appreciate.

The thought comes from reading pages 266-276 from my version where Augustine writes about drinking too much and gluttony.  Here is what I wrote:

“I like how he gets into gluttony.  My wife goes off on gluttony, she compares the judging of people to it.  She sees people that look down on others for their music, dress, or having a drink and sees them overeating.  Why is it okay to overeat and wrong to have a drink?  What is the difference?”

If you don’t quite get this, then you need to ask Jennifer what her opinion is on drinking vs. gluttony.  Ask and watch out!
