How do you know God’s will?

Read the book! Read the whole book and not just some little piece of a verse that makes you feel good. Okay, so it may not have every specific answer for your situation, but I bet if you get the basics right your decisions and life will be much easier.
This idea was put into my head yesterday when I heard a great sermon at the hair salon. I arrived a little early for my appointment so I was sitting there looking at a men’s haircut book wondering what man would want hair like that. Although, I probably had seen a couple of the styles at The People’s Church, but I digress. As I was sitting there I overheard one of the stylists talking to her client about a couple in ministry that seemed to be doing some ungodly things. I could not get the full story, but the stylist was on a roll quoting scriptures that tell us to watch out for false teachers that would do the things these people were doing. She kept saying, “You have to read the book.” People keep listening to them and sending them money because they, “don’t read the book.”
Two thoughts:
- She is right, read the book.
- This is a good example of someone “being the fruit,” proclaiming God’s word out in the workplace.
On my way out I told her, “Thanks for the sermon!”
