Reflections From Class

I finished my first day of seminary classes yesterday. The first thing that impressed me was the professors. The professor in my first class informed us that he gets up and drives to 3 1/2 hours to Nashville from Lexington, KY to teach a 3 hour class then turns around and heads home. I was so impressed with his commitment until I went to my 2nd class and found out that this professor gets up in Raleigh, NC and flies to Louisville, KY where he rents a car and drives 3 hours into Nashville to teach his 3 hour class then drives back to Louisville where he teaches classes there for 2 more days then flies back home. I admire the commitment to travel to teach 1 class like that. I know it is their job, but that is haul no matter how you think about it.
Anybody who knew me as an undergrad would tell you that I was a terrible student. I would rarely go to class and somehow pull together a good test to pass classes. I once showed up for test and the prof. asked if I was in the class or not. He had never seen me before. Part of the problem was a lack of direction and ambition, but the biggest part was that I was bored and unchallenged. I never got excited about a class. I never got excited in class. Yesterday I was stirred by the content in class. That is probably the first time that has ever happened.
I think I am in the right place!
